Using Geolocation
Geolocation allows the geographical location of your user’s computers to be tracked, providing insights into the physical location of data and employees, ensuring compliance with data residency and work location requirements.
The CurrentWare client utilizes the Windows Location Service, which is built in to Windows 11 and Windows 10 machines. This uses the available sensors on the computer to provide location information to applications that request it. It uses a variety of sensors, including Wifi, cellular network and GPS if available.
Location tracking is provided by the enPowerManager module, so the location is requested from Windows Location Services at the point of user login. User login covers several events, such as a user logging into Windows from startup, and unlocking from the Windows lock screen after sleep or hibernate.
