The client computer’s Windows Firewall may be blocking the setup file from being sent. Below are some recommendations for configuring the Firewall to permit the remote installation of the CurrentWare client.
Option #1: Turn OFF Windows Firewall temporarily
- Go to Control Panel > System and Security > Windows Firewall.
- Select Turn Windows Firewall on or off on the left hand side.
- Turn OFF Windows Firewall for Private and Public network.
- After the CurrentWare Client is successfully installed on the remote computer, you can turn the Windows Firewall back on.
If you cannot turn off the Windows Firewall temporarily, please proceed to option 2.
Option #2: Create two inbound rules to allow file sharing and RPC (Remote Procedure Call)
Rule #1: Allow RPC Dynamic ports
- Go to Control Panel > System and Security > Windows Firewall.
