Can I block devices at specific times?

Device Scheduler

The device scheduler allows the administrator to assign when the device permissions will be enforced by assigning the start and stop times for particular network devices. Only storage devices are available for the device scheduler.

This is a Group-specific setting. Groups can be assigned to three levels of device access:

Full Access: The computer with this access permission can read and write to the specified external devices that are connected to the computer.

Read Only: The computer with this access permission can only read the information from the specified external device that is connected to the computer. The user will not be able to copy any information to the specified external device. This option is only available to storage devices.

No Access: The computer with this permission cannot read or write to the specified external devices connected to the computer.

Creating a Device Schedule

  1. Choose the AccessPatrol solution from the left-hand menu of the CurrentWare Web Console.
  2. Select Manage
  3. Choose the Group you want to assign a scheduler to from the Groups menu.
  4. Select Device Scheduler.
  5. Click on the New Schedule button.
  6. Select the Device type under the select device menu.
  7. Select the Access Permission.
  8. Select the Schedule Frequency: Daily, Weekly or Monthly.
  9. Select the Schedule Start and Stop Times.
  10. Click on the Add Schedule button to create the Device Schedule.
    • Up to 20 different device schedules can be set per Group.
  11. Click on Enable Scheduler from the top right corner of the Device Scheduler window.

Note: When trying to set a device schedule that goes from PM to AM (example 10pm to 2am), you need to create two seperate scheduled. One from 10pm to 11:59pm and a second from 12am to 2am.
